Valérie Verseau (aka Valérie Blier) was born in Paris, France. Raised in a very artistic environment, she became an artist herself. She studied music and dance with some of the finest teachers in Paris.

At the age of 19, Valérie started her career in the movie business as an assistant director on several movies. In the meantime, wanting to know more about how to direct actors, she studied theatre in Paris, London and New York, with a great variety of teachers among them Jack Waltzer (coach of Dustin Hoffman in "Tootsie") from the Actor’s studio.

Discovering a passion for photography, she became a photographer and worked for more than ten years for the renowned press agency, CORBIS-SYGMA.

Valérie Verseau has photographed many stars of the motion picture industry, including Cameron Diaz, Gérard Depardieu, Klaus Kinski, Carole Bouquet, Michel Blanc, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Gérard Jugnot, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Barbara Hendricks, Daniel Auteuil, Jeffrey Wright, Jordana Brewster, Michael Lonsdale, Chris Penn, Richard Edson, Anouk Grinberg, Philippe Noiret, Michel Serrault, Miou-Miou, Jean Carmet, Josianne Balasko, Jean Rochefort, Jean-Pierre Bacri, Jacques Villeret, Annie Girardot, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Thierry Frémont, Bertrand Blier, Patrice Leconte, Michel Deville, Claude Miller, Claude Chabrol, Guy Marchand, Béatrice Dalle, Valéria Bruni-Tedesci, Clothilde Courault, Pierre Chesnay, Adam Brooks...

Valérie has also done photographic work on numerous Academy Award winning French film and foreign motion picture productions. Her world travels include England, Italy, Spain, Sicily, Portugal, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, USA, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Madere, Africa, as far as the Seychelles. She possesses an enviable record of publications in such distinguished French magazines as "Les Cahiers du Cinema" and "Studio Magazine".

Fascinated by the process of making movies, Valérie wrote and directed a short film "Never Alone With You", starring comedian Didier Bénureau and Karine Silla.

She is now living in Los Angeles.
